Global practice Aedas collaborated with Toronto-based luxury art studio Moss & Lam to create a striking art installation made from thousands of handcrafted floral elements depicting Chinese creation story in the form of a garden for the fine dining Yi by Jeremy Yeung restaurant at the iconic Raffles Hotel Singapore. The bar is designed in a ’living room’ setting situated at the corner of the garden. Diners will find floral and refined natural materials in the finishes and furniture pieces that pick up on the garden concept.
A garden tunnel leads guests to the main dining hall where the concept of world creation is revealed. A conceptual representation of the various parts within the sky creates a blanket over the guests featuring plaster ceiling sculpture. A refined yet humble palette of natural materials like marble and timber in the surroundings brings the earth concept to life. Continuing the narrative, the restaurant is walled with soft-hued lacquered surface, moon gate on the beautiful textured stone dividers, and custom-made modern chinoiserie artworks expressing natural elements.
