The world’s most anticipated design event, Salone del Mobile, marks its 60th anniversary this year. While the organiser cancelled the 2020 edition when Italy became one of the worst-hit nations due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, this year, the organiser has vowed to go ahead, albeit with a new date. Usually held in April, it’ll run from September 5 to 10.
The fair will be curated by Italian architect Stefano Boeri, with the support of young architects and international professionals.
“September will be a unique and innovative event that, also thanks to the experience and sensitivity of the architect Stefano Boeri and the young curators who will support it, will be able to show the best of our know-how to a national and international audience. An appointment that will allow all visitors to explore and deepen the evolution taking place in the world of contemporary furniture and living, consecrating Milano as the undisputed capital of the design economy. A symbol of the restart around which all the best energies will gather that will be able to honour what the Salone del Mobile has always represented. We thank all the institutions that have supported us and will support us in this wonderful adventure” – Claudio Feltrin, president of Federlegno Arredo
