Recently, Singapore unveiled plans for the development of the southern waterfront as the Tanjong Pagar Terminal moves to Tuas. In line with this planned development, Sentosa and Pulau Brani, too, have been earmarked to be reinvented as a huge leisure destination.
Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC) has unveiled possibilities for Sentosa and Pulau Brani as part of a landmark Master Plan to redevelop the two islands, leveraging their unique island charm, geographical qualities, as well as proximity to the city. London-based architecture firm WilkinsonEyre and landscape architecture firm Grant Associates, the team behind the iconic Gardens by the Bay project, is coming together once again to work on the Sentosa-Pulau Brani development.
Known as the Sentosa-Brani Master Plan, the comprehensive blueprint will be rolled out in phases over the next two to three decades. It will see SDC leveraging the islands’ ridge-to-reef attributes to bring in world-class attractions as well as fresh and bold night-time offerings while enhancing last mile transport connectivity to and within the islands. New spaces and concepts that are authentic and environmentally sustainable will also be created – including rejuvenated beaches and expanded nature and heritage trails.
The redeveloped islands will feature five distinct zones – each delivering unique experiences, with the zones progressively taking on a more leisurely character as guests travel farther from the city into the islands: Vibrant Cluster, Island Heart, Waterfront, Ridgeline, and Beachfront.
