Normal Bookmark by Singaporean designer Aen Tan
We are extremely proud to share the news that our very talented design consultant Aen Tan has launched a new product called the Normal Bookmark. The plain, blank bookmark is quite unique for its minimalist appearance that is devoid of what Aen calls unnecessary distractions. The bookmark made of high-quality paper sourced from renewed forests, fits in flexibly as the book pages are flipped. Moreover, the natural paper texture helps prevent the bookmark from sliding down through loose pages even in a spiral-bind.
“The inspiration came after I read a book titled “Super Normal: Sensations of the Ordinary” written by Naoto Fukasawa and Jasper Morrison. The topics and philosophy discussed in the book resonated with me in a way no other book had before,” says Aen, who feels that good design is one that is invisible and free of the designer’s ego, citing everyday objects such as the plastic bag, bicycle and the salt shaker as examples. “Most of us have never thought about these things because they just work, quietly.”
Normal Bookmark is available in packs of 5,10 and 20 costing $7, $12 and $18 respectively. Buy yours at www.normalbookmark.com

I think I will now start buying books just to use this bookmark.

Thanks for the feature Shweta! And Jacob even if it wasn’t for my bookmark, you should be reading. Books are the best.
