Arts Abu Dhabi 2009– a great event without a doubt, featuring such great talents as Max Lamb who counts Brad Pitt amongst the patrons of his work and famous Dutch designer Maarten Baas, concluded a few days ago. Architect and set designer Yasser Abdulaal shares with us some amazing images from the event. The site itself is fantastic with azure skies and sea– reminiscent of Art Basel/Miami. Watch out Miami, Arts Abu Dhabi is sure to give all high-profile international art events a run for their money.

Says Yasser, “We did a sand casting workshop with Max Lamb, pretty much all day. I’m glad they did not kick me out when I was running with my bare and sandy feet inside the fancy lounge. Kept only one sand casted piece. It was all an idiot’s luck, I arrived when the workshop started. and later on had a chat with a very fine old gentleman… only after 30 minutes I found out he’s the Director of The Vitra Design Museum.”
