Ayyam Gallery Dubai presents the second Young Collectors Auction

If you’re looking for something different to do this Friday other than the hedonistic Dubai brunches, then head to Ayyam Gallery for a chance to bid for some great artworks at their in-house auction. Following the great success of the first auction earlier this year, Ayyam Gallery once again presents the second Young Collectors Auction, which will be held at the gallery on October 30, 2009 at 5PM. Artworks range in estimates from $1,000 to $10,000 dollars with artists from all over the Arab World and Turkey.

The exhibited pieces include works by some of the most well-known as well as emerging figures in Turkey, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Palestine and Egypt. Not only does the programme presents an interesting concept to buy sought-after artworks at highly competitive prices, but also appeals to a new generation of collectors and patrons in the Middle East.

Striptease Series by Nassouh Zaghlouleh

Modernist staples of Arab art are offered with works by Egyptian painter Samir Rafi and Syrian pioneer Fateh Moudarres. Contemporary approaches to painting are found in the canvases of Safwan Dahoul and Khaled Takreti, artists who have captured the attention of the regional art scene and lead a bold, new stage in Syrian art. Prospective collectors are also presented with the opportunity to delve into the Middle East’s rich history of photography with the majestic images of Turkish photographer Izzet Keribar while being exposed to the exciting trends that are currently taking place in Syria with the dramatic scenes of Nassouh Zaghlouhleh and cutting-edge images of Ammar Al-Beik.

Impressive People by Pierre Koukjian

Other stand-out artists whose work will feature prominently include leading Levantine painters Samia Halaby, Asma Fayoumi, Abdullah Murad and Naim Ismail. As a collection, the nearly 60 lots will provide a remarkable lineup of one of the world’s fast growing art markets, thrusting artists further into the global art scene while opening up new frontiers for budding collectors.

Like other auctions, people who want to participate but cannot attend the event personally can make a silent absentee bid by emailing info@ayyamgallery.com

It is also possible to do phone in bids live during the auction. Ayyam Gallery will have representatives available to talk to during the event to make bids on their behalf.
