Plasma Art Contest by Dubai International Financial Centre
Published in Calling all budding designers studying design/arts at any of the UAE universities! Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) takes an active interest not only in hotshot bankers but also the creative talent of the country. The financial hub of Dubai has launched a competition for student designers in UAE to come up with contemporary designs for functional and artistic structures that will support the plasma TV screens.
The contest is part of DIFC’s attempt to integrate art and culture into its business community. Art, after all, is big business. 15 designs will be selected from the submissions; the top three design winners will receive a 42” Panasonic Plasma TV. The structures fabricated from the selected designs will be unveiled in October 2008 and all 15 winning designs will be produced and installed in prime locations across DIFC.
The deadline for receiving entries is 4.00 pm on Sunday, June 29, 2008.
