Giorgio Armani vs Paul Smith at Champion’s League
Move over Victoria Beckham, Katie Holmes, Beyoncé et al. The unstoppable Mr. Armani has turned his attention from red carpet to football fields and is dressing up the Chelsea boys, but for off-pitch formal wear only.
The team will be kitted out in a single-breasted, two-button navy blue crease-resistant lightweight wool gabardine suit, with flat-front, straight-legged trousers and a fitted jacket with pronounced ‘Roman’ shoulder line, worn with pale blue cotton shirts from the Armani Napoli range and a new club tie. Other items in the ensemble include a navy blue polo shirt as an alternative to shirt and tie, a dark brown mock croc belt and brown suede half boots. And there is also a single-breasted knee-length nylon raincoat in navy blue for rainy days.
Giorgio Armani’s look for ChelseaFC
Just like the football jerseys, fans can buy a replica of the new look sans the coat of arms on the breast pocket from Emporio Armani stores throughout England. Check out the dapper look in tonight’s hotly contested Champion’s League.
If The Blues have the ‘deconstructed’ services of Armani, the Manchester United boys have got British icon Paul Smith on their side, who’s designed the Red Devils’ off-pitch formal wear. Tonight, besides the goal scoreboard, there’ll be much to watch out for in style stakes too. May the best team suit win!
